Matchbox Blister: 1965 Shelby Cobra 427

The 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C is one of the most celebrated castings in Matchbox history, having undergone multiple "retools" to keep the design fresh for different generations of collectors.

Recent & Notable Releases

The casting has seen a major resurgence recently, including highly collectible "Chase" and "Premium" versions:  

**2025 Super Chase: This is a standout release in Orange with black racing stripes and "SC" on the license plate. As a Super Chase, it features rubber tires and enhanced detailing compared to standard mainline versions.  

2025 Gathering Dinner Model: A special premium version in Pink with white racing stripes was produced for the Matchbox Gathering. It features a chrome base and highly detailed "VICKI" branding on the rear plate.  

Mainline Retool (2025-Present): Matchbox recently updated the casting again (MB587) with a larger windscreen and more refined body lines to match modern diecast standards.
